This painting was inspired by Smoky, a kitten that was rescued by MeoowzResQ and whom I fostered and found a home for back in 2011. Smoky had a fun, adventurous spirit, wanting to explore the world and interact with everyone! If he had wings, I'm sure he would fly around, taking in the surroundings, in awe of everything he could see. He would return at night by the light of the moon to spend quality time with the people and other animals that he loves. He was such a free spirit, and so loving. I tried to capture that essence in this painting.
I love cats. In the past, I volunteered with a cat rescue, fostering and finding homes for over 100 kittens and cats. I think cats are amazing, and I know they bring so much joy into our lives. I love capturing the kind and loving spirit of cats in my paintings to bring a smile to your face whenever you walk by and gaze upon the art.
